Good Morning All

The weeks are passing so quickly. Fall is approaching faster than one would like. School has begun; the county fair is around the corner and the elections are not far off, all signs that soon the mornings will be crisp and the leaves will begin to change.

The waning summer has been a good one despite the problems we have all encountered. The economy has been sluggish and the cost of fuel and food has risen faster than a flooding river and still we are all here and moving forward.

I for one am grateful that all seasons pass as will this dragging economic one. Looking forward to a new season brings hope for change and from this stand point up is about all there is. So, onward and upward as they say.

The Yarn Store has made a few new friends this week. We are always glad to see new faces. The word continues to spread and we very appreciative for those of you that speak so highly of us.

You know me and how I feel about the large cost of public advertising. Word of mouth works so much better because it is done with purpose and is direct. When you fling money and effort at the media it often falls in all the wrong places at the wrong time. Not always but many times this is true, so the energy is better spent on thanking those who spread the word. Thank you again.

We now have a few of our plans for our fall line up of classes. This would be a good time for you to mark your calendar with the class times and registration deadlines.

Well now that is a lot to keep track of. We will have a complete list of classes at the store so if you need to double check just come on by.

You may have noticed that we have added a new policy to our classes. We are now requiring you to purchase your yarns for class from us. This only seems fair since that is the business we are in. Also it assures you of the best possible outcome for your project.

You may have also noticed that I didn’t add that policy to the Christmas stocking class. I would like for you to purchase your yarns from us but many of you had already purchased yarn for this class before we put this policy in effect. Plus there are parts of this class that require such a small amount of yarn you may already have it in you stash. So do what you must as long as you have what is needed.

PJ and I have been working on a method of toe up socks this last week and that is about all. We should soon have a method we like best and we will add that to the class line up.

One last thing concerning “Knitting for Noggin’s”.
Time is growing short so we must get to stitchin’. We would like to up the number from last year (53) to at least 100 hats. We have a good start but we are far from what we would like. I will have to get back to you on the exact date as to when we will send them but it will be in October.

They are in need of young adult sized hats and they must be made from new yarn. But we will take any size and shape as long as they are made from new material. Knit or crochet it doesn’t matter.

Better run for now. My honey has the day off and we have no plans except to spend it together. I love these kind of days. No expectations and just be.

Have a great week and thank you again for participating and being part of what we do.

As Always
Kathie
